Impact-resistant face and trim
A protective LED mask keeps air-inflated sports balls off the diodes. Micro-grooves help perceived contrast. Perimeter trim protects edges as part of the mechanical design.
Education
School gyms run announcements, pep rallies, youth sport, and award nights. XL AV specifies an indoor LED wall for that daily use, not rented event scenery.
Morning announcements and award nights are why a 16:9 wall belongs in a school gym. Scoring is one layout on that wall, not a reason to buy a sealed numeric board that sits dark the rest of the week.
XL AV specifies LUXVISION PROLUX Rugged: 16:9 cabinets at 1280 by 720 mm and 1600 by 900 mm, front service, impact-resistant face and trim.
Administrators and booster operators should be able to run the wall after commissioning. We specify control and train the people who will actually use it.
Onsite spares keep a school gym from waiting on a truck for a dark cabinet.
School gym lighting is often left on. We operate PROLUX Rugged around 2,100 nits so announcements stay readable.
Speech for announcements and pep rallies belongs with the wall. We specify or integrate PA when it is in scope.
A school should not need a technician to start morning announcements. LUXVISION typically uses NovaStar processing. Training is at commissioning.
We start with the room: dimensions, viewing distance, how it is used, structure, power, and whether audio, lighting, and live video are in the project. Then a specification, coordination with the facilities team, installation, commissioning, and operator training. Spare modules stay on site so a failed cabinet is swapped, not left dark.
PROLUX Rugged
A protective LED mask keeps air-inflated sports balls off the diodes. Micro-grooves help perceived contrast. Perimeter trim protects edges as part of the mechanical design.
Earlier rugged products could lose magnetic modules on a hard hit. PROLUX Rugged uses a quarter-turn metal-to-metal interlock so modules stay on the wall and still service from the front.
Current PROLUX Rugged warranty context is 7 years, including impact from air-inflated sports balls.
Modules, cabling, and feeder access are designed from the front. That is required when a gym display is mounted tight to a wall with no rear aisle.
Gyms collect dust. Fans ingest that dust and then fail. PROLUX Rugged uses the cabinet as a heat sink with Mean Well supplies. There is no cooling fan in the documented architecture.
Pixels capable of about 3,900 nits are operated around 2,100 nits. The intent is less heat and less electrical infrastructure than driving the diodes to their maximum.
Score and clock can run as layouts on the LED wall. Most schools also need announcements and events on the same canvas.
Known PROLUX Rugged cabinets are 1280 by 720 mm and 1600 by 900 mm, both 16:9. Wall size follows viewing distance.
